Carbon Monitoring

Conservation Podcast

Grazing Support

Monitoring of Carbon Sequestration for Carbon Credit Development, is a three year project funded through the Pennsylvania NRCS CIG program. The project uses soil probes and soil testing services to measure soil carbon and evaluate the impacts of soil conservation techniques on soil carbon levels.
Capital RC&D's Conservation Podcast features interviews with the conservation professionals who make conservation happen through the region. In addition to highlighting regional programs, the interviews focus on the individuals and the work itself. Podcast episodes are accessible on the project page, via iTunes/Apple Podcast, and Spotify.
Prescribed Grazing is an interactive planning method, done with the operator based on individual goals and needs which can include intensive rotational, rotational, and continuous grazing.

No-till & Soil Health

The On-Farm Composting in Pennsylvania video series was produced to demonstrate ways farmers can close the waste cycle in their farm businesses.
Marketing, food waste, and food systems development are important topics for farmers and consumers, and  Capital RC&D's local food initiatives provided materials for both.
The Capital RC&D supports a variety of projects and programs that provide resources to farmers and agency staff about soil health topics and transition to or improvement of no-till systems.
