How does RC&D work?

Program activities are initiated and directed by the volunteer RC&D Council made up of representatives of local government, conservation districts, businesses, development organizations, nonprofit groups and individuals.

The Council sets goals designed to promote responsible use and conservation of natural resources while strengthening communities, establishing needed technical support and working toward the economic resiliency of the region. The Council evaluates project ideas provided by community members and seeks necessary tools to carry out selected projects.

Our Programs
FISCAL SPONSORSHIP
Capital RC&D enables fledgling organizations and projects get started by helping them become eligible for grant funding through use of our tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status and by providing assistance for the development of organizational capacity. During 2016 we sponsored two organizations:
  • South Central PA Harvest Hub, an organization providing fresh locally grown produce to 14 area school districts and
  • Carver's Secret Garden, a youth gardening program in two Dauphin County school districts
Contact us to learn more about our fiscal sponsorship services.
