Welcome to Capital RC&D and thank you for your interest in this project, the regional landscape, and our work.
The Capital RC&D "Ag Conservation in our Communities" photo display is a traveling photo installation designed to increase awareness of conservation in our region. The display features conservation practices that connect to four major themes within Capital RC&D's work, including: soil, water, grazing, and communities. Learn more about the photos, themes, and projects represented in our Ag Conservation in Our Communities photo installation by visiting the theme pages below. |
SoilVibrant soils yield nourishing foods. New ways to improve and maintain productive soils are a focus of our partnerships and work.
WaterWater quality is maximized by keeping soil stabilized and protected with plants such as pasture grass, cover crops, and trees.
GrazingRotational grazing manages livestock using multiple pastures. This approach coupled with plant and soil quality practices provides healthy animals, farm business resilience, and wildlife habitat.
Water source protection is important for the economic vitality of our communities. Protection promotes safe drinking water, local food production, healthy habitat for fish and wildlife, and outdoor recreation space for everyone.
