There is no limit to the type of projects Capital RC&D can support, sponsor or become involved in. Some preliminary program goals identified by the Council are: Land use and regional planning, intergovernmental partnerships and cooperation, water supply and conservation efforts, stormwater management and groundwater recharge issues, hazard planning and mitigation, agricultural sustainability, solid waste management, and open space preservation including passive recreation.

Because the Capital RC&D Council has a unique structure and leadership that focuses on achieving area goals through a locally led process, the program and its projects accurately reflect the environmental, social and cultural values of our region. RC&D projects may address the following issues (and more!):
